DENIAL

DENIAL = Don't Even Notice I am Lying.

I lie to myself (deceive) about the real, honest-to-God truth. I can't help myself!!!

I need people who love the Lord, know the word of God, and lovingly know me. Books, TV preachers & other "experts" don't really know me. And I don't really know them.

This is the miracle of a long-term, healthy church life where people are trying to be authentic and Spirit-filled. It is the hard work of growing in God's love & truth.

The prophet Obadiah says in simple words what I need to hear over and over: "The pride of your heart has deceived you..." (1:3)

I need my church family & other companions in my spiritual life. Slowly Jesus is setting us free through His deep truth, humility & honesty.
